Scrolling screenshot (Capture more)
- Take a screenshot with the buttons.
- Tap Capture more.
- Drag the line to set how much to include, then tap Save.
Only works in apps that support scrolling screenshots.
Side sense
- Flick the Side sense bar (on the screen edge) inwards, or tap the Dashboard icon, then tap Screenshot.
- To make a flick take a screenshot directly: Settings > Operation & View > Side sense > Gesture function assignments, then assign Take screenshot to a flick.
Quick Settings tile
- Swipe down twice from the top.
- Tap Screenshot.
Recent apps screen
- Tap the Overview button (or swipe up and hold).
- Swipe to the app and tap Screenshot.
Where are screenshots saved?
Open Google Photos and go to Collections > On this device > Screenshots. In the Files app: Pictures > Screenshots.
Record your Xperia screen
- Swipe down from the top (twice if needed) to open Quick Settings.
- Tap Screen recorder (or Screen record). If it's missing, tap the pencil (edit) icon and drag it in.
- Choose sound settings and start. Tap the floating stop button or the notification to finish. The video saves to your gallery.
Screenshot not working?
There's no Side sense bar
Turn it on in Settings > Operation & View > Side sense. Some older or budget Xperia models don't have it.
The buttons only change the volume or lock the screen
Press Power and Volume down at exactly the same moment and hold briefly. If a button is worn, use a gesture or the Quick Settings tile instead.
"Can't take screenshot" or a black image
Banking, streaming and some work apps block screenshots on purpose, as do incognito browser tabs. This can't be turned off.
